4/30 Cloquet Community Center Gym Closure: The Cloquet Community Center Gym will be closed Wednesday, May 1st, for a funeral and should open back up by 3 pm. Thank you.
4/29 Summer Youth Employment: The FDL Summer Youth Employment program is now accepting applications. Youth ages 14 to 17 are eligible. Applications are due no later than April 30, 2024.

4/15 Request for Proposals: The Fond du Lac Education Division is seeking sealed bids to install a water softening system at the Fond du Lac Ojibwe School, 49 University Road, Cloquet, MN. The deadline for submitting bids was April 30, 2024, 4:00 pm.
4/10 Request for Proposals: The Fond du Lac Royalty Coordinator is soliciting proposals from individuals to make beaded crowns/hats/sashes for FDL Royalty. The deadline for submitting bids was April 30, 2024, 4:30 pm.
4/10 Fond du Lac Vendors Needed: Calling all Fond du Lac vendors! Our Fond du Lac Band will host a two-day Tribal-State Relations Training (TSRT) at the Black Bear Otter Creek Event Center Wednesday, April 10 and Thursday, April 11. Hundreds of state employees will be present to learn about the Fond du Lac Tribal community and other Tribal communities across the state. As part of this training, we wish to highlight as many of our Fond du Lac vendors as possible. Vendors will be able to present their goods on Wednesday, April 10 [9:30a - 7:30pm] and Thursday, April 11 [7:00am - 4:00pm]. All Fond du Lac community members can register for FREE.
4/9 Tribal Court Clerk's Office Closure: The FDL Tribal Court Clerk's Office will be closed from Wednesday, April 10, through Monday, April 15.
4/9 Request for Proposals: Powwow regalia needed. The Fond du Lac Veterans Committee is soliciting proposals from qualified band members to make 40 outfits in various children’s sizes and styles. We are seeking band members with experience in art of regalia making and Fond du Lac culture The deadline for submitting bids was April 23, 2024, 4:30 pm.
4/2 Request for Proposals: The Fond du Lac Development Corporation is seeking sealed bids to construct a post frame building at 964 Cary Road, Cloquet, MN. The deadline for submitting bids was April 16, 2024, 4:00 pm.
4/2 Tribal Court Notice: The Tribal Court’s April citation hearings will be held on the second Monday of April, April 8th, instead of the regularly scheduled first Monday of the month.
4/1 Cloquet Community Center Gym Closure: The Cloquet Community Center gym will be closed from 9:00 AM - 3:30 PM on Monday April 1st, and will be closed all day on Tuesday April 2nd, for the Tribal Primary election. The pool area will be closed both days as well.

3/28 Food Distribution Closures: Attention Food Distribution Program Participants, the following dates Food Dist. will be closed; all day March 28th for Multi-Food Truck Delivery, and all day March 29th for FDL Holiday. Please plan accordingly to ensure you receive your monthly food package.
3/27 Closure Notice: The Motor Vehicle Registrar office at the FDL Tribal Center is closed today, Wednesday, March 27, 2024. Thank you.
3/26 Closure Due to Weather: Due to continued inclement weather conditions, all Fond du Lac Programs and Clinic operations, except our Minneapolis staff, will be closed today, March 26, 2024. Minneapolis staff will have a 2 hour late start at 10:00 am. All ALR, FDL C Store, and Casino staff will have normal operating hours.
3/26 Propane Closure Notice: Due to the closure, weather and road conditions, FDL Propane will NOT be doing any deliveries today, March 26th. Sorry for any inconvenience. Please always check your tank levels and call for a fill at 20-30%.

3/15 Request for Proposals: The Fond du Lac Development Corporation is soliciting proposals from qualified consulting firms to provide aid in site design, building design, review and programming. The project is to provide a functional building for the Band’s Transit Department. The deadline for submitting bids was April 1, 2024, 4:30 pm.
3/13 Waste Transfer Station Holiday Hours: Starting May 1, 2024, the FDL Waste Management Transfer Station will be adjusting hours of operation for Holidays. The new hours of operation for ALL Holidays are: 8 am – 12 pm. Please note the Transfer Station will be CLOSED for Christmas Day. FDL Waste Management appreciates your understanding and patience as we adjust to slightly different hours during Holidays which will allow for staff to also enjoy these days with their families and friends.
3/13 Fan Bus Available: Ride the Fan Bus to attend the FDL Boys Basketball Section 7A Semifinal Play-Off game against Cherry on Wednesday, March 13, 7:00 pm in Hibbing! The bus will leave Fond du Lac Ojibwe School at 3:45 pm.

3/7 Harm Reduction Community Conversation: Fond du Lac Human Services hosted a Community Conversation on Harm Reduction on Thursday, March 7th, from 5 pm - 8 pm at the Black Bear Casino Otter Creek Event Center. Dinner was included.

Gain valuable insights into this transformative approach to promoting health and wellness in Indigenous populations.
2/21 Language Advisory Board Public Meeting: The 2024 1st Quarter Language Advisory Board Public Meeting was held on Wednesday, February 21, at the FDL Language and Cultural Center, from 4:45 pm - 6:00 pm. The keynote speaker was Tara Dupuis, Superintendent of FDL Ojibwe School.
2/12 Cloquet Forestry Center Listening Session: A public listening session has been scheduled for February 13 to hear public comment on the University’s intended plans to return this land to the Fond du Lac Band of Lake Superior Chippewa. The session will take place at the Cloquet Forestry Center auditorium (175 University Road, Cloquet, MN 55720) beginning at 3 p.m. and running until 4:30 p.m. All are welcome to attend.
2/8 Lottery Notice: On Thursday, February 8, 2024, at 9 a.m., the Reservation Business Committee held a lottery to determine the order in which the candidates in the Primary Election for the 2024 Regular Election will appear on the ballot. The lottery was held in the meeting chambers at the Fond du Lac Tribal Center and was broadcast through Zoom.

1/31 NOTICE: The Reservation Business Committee is seeking an individual from the Cloquet District to serve on the Land Use Committee. The purpose of this committee is to advise, assist and oversee the use, protection and development of land within the boundaries of the reservation. The deadline to apply was January 31, 2024.
1/30 Request for Proposals: Fond du Lac Sand & Gravel is seeking proposals on crushing services for the year 2024 at the FDL Pine Pit located at 8870 Pine Drive, Cloquet, MN 55720. The deadline for submitting bids was February 20, 2024, 3:00 pm.
1/26 2024 Election Board Members: The RBC is seeking Band members to serve on the General Election Board or the District Election Boards in the upcoming Regular Election. If you are interested, please submit a request for consideration to Robert Abramowski, Secretary/Treasurer, in writing at the Fond du Lac Tribal Center, 1720 Big Lake Road, Cloquet, MN 55720, or by e-mail to robertabramowski@fdlrez.com. 1/22 Seeking Local Produce: The Planning and Agricultural Divisions are curating a food box with local goods that will be distributed on the 25th. We are looking for producers that would like to sell produce or value-added products to the box. Producers interested can either contact JamieAdams@fdlrez.com or CamiFischer@fdlrez.com, and can bring products to 7889 Jokela Road, Cloquet, MN 55720 between 12:00 PM and 4:00 PM on Monday, January 22nd. Individuals will need to fill out a W9 and Invoice upon drop off. Payments will be made within two weeks.

1/19 NOTICE: The St. Louis River Area of Concern (SLRAOC) Remedial Action Plan (RAP) Draft Update was available for public comment until January 19th, 2024. The document is in a "redline" version to indicate the changes that have been made to the document from the last version. 1/9 NOTICE: The Wisconsin 1837 and 1842 Ceded Territory Conservation Code has been amended to extend the deer hunting season through 1/31. Interested Band members should contact the Conservation Clerk’s office to obtain a Wisconsin specific paper license. Please contact Conservation Clerk Terri Redding at (218) 878-7155 with questions or for more details. The fully amended Code is now available online here.
1/5 NOTICE: The last day for submitting deer heads for Chronic Wasting Disease (CWD) testing will be Friday, January 5th. Thank you to everyone who has participated. So far 156 heads have been submitted to the Resource Management Division office by tribal and state hunters from the Reservation and surrounding area. 135 heads have been submitted to the lab for testing and all have come back negative for CWD. The remaining heads will be shipped off for testing next week, and Resource Management hopes to continue the effort for the 2024 hunting season.

12/29 Producer Training Program: The Fond du Lac Tribal and Community College is offering a Bimaaji'idiwin Producer Training Program for all community members who want to grow their own food. Applications were due by January 15th, 2024.
12/26 Elders Telling Stories - The Tribal Historic Preservation Office invites Fond du Lac elders to Sawyer Community Center on Wednesday, December 27th from 5pm-7pm to tell stories for the Office to preserve. Refreshments will be provided.
12/21 Summer REU Internships: The 2024 Research Experience for Undergraduates on Sustainable Land and Water Resources (REU SLAWR) internship is now available for applications. This REU introduces undergraduate students to the key elements of research on land and water resources that are essential to improving management practices. The deadline to apply was February 4, 2024, and the internship runs from June 10 - August 9, 2024.
12/21 Request for Proposals: FDL Housing is seeking sealed bids for a Residential Renovation projects #63-66 at 4 individual homes in Cloquet, MN 55720. The projects will include very little exterior work and mostly interior remodel work. The deadline for submitting bids to each RFP was January 10, 2024, 3:00 pm.
12/21 Mitten/Hat Tree Drive: Donate new mittens and hats to the Mitten/Hat Tree at FDL Social Services at the Min No Aya Win Clinic. The drive will be from November 6 - December 21. All items will be donated to students ages 5-17 in need of winter gear.
12/21 Baking & Beets Workshops: A two-part kitchen workshop at Na'enimonigamig to learn the secrets of pickling, preserving and baking sourdough bread! Sourdough bread workshop is on December 18, and Pickled Beets on December 21. 
12/20 Language Advisory Board Meeting: The next FDL Language Advisory Board Meeing will be held on December 20, at the FDL Language & Cultural Learning Center. 
12/20 2023 Biboon Celebration: The FDL Ojibwe School is holding the annual Biboon Celebration on Wednesday, December 20th. The celebration is from 12:30 pm - 3 pm for students and families only, then 3 pm - 6 pm for the FDL Community. Enjoy winter fun and activities, and dinner served from 5 pm - 6 pm.

12/12 Request for Proposals: The Fond du Lac Administration is soliciting proposals from Band members to provide beading kits for an upcoming evet. We are seeking bids for 500 beading kits. The beading kits should include everything needed for beading including some templates. Please submit a proposal by December 26, 2023, at 4:30 pm.
12/12 FDL Toy Giveaway: Bring the kids to meet Santa, his Elves and the Grinch on Saturday, December 16th! Santa will be at the FDL Head Start Gym starting at 9 am!
12/12 American Indian Education Committee Elections: The Carlton School District held elections for 3 Indian Education Committees on Wednesday, December 13th, at the Sawyer Community Center. Come and hear about the committees and the opportunities the program can offer your children. Snacks at 6 pm, elections at 6:30 pm, future meeting discussion at 7 pm.
12/11 One Roof Housing Homes for Sale Open Houses: One Roof Community Housing in Duluth has 2 homes for sale at 1317 and 1319 99th Ave West. This pair of houses are of the second generation of narrow-format single family homes designed to fit on the many vacant 25’-0” wide lots in Duluth. One Roof also has a Solar Lease program for people to get a solar system installed for $0!

12/7 Black Bear Casino Resort receives outstanding employer award: The Minnesota Organization for Habilitation and Rehabilitation (MOHR) recognizes employers that go above and beyond for Minnesotans with intellectual and developmental disabilities. They have selected Black Bear Casino Resort as a MOHR 2023 Employer Award Recipient! MOHR was particularly impressed with Black Bear's "welcoming environment, rotation of positions, and the sense of value instilled." The award ceremony was held on Thursday, December 7th, at 1:00 pm, at the Hotel.

12/4 Stuff the FDL Squad: Help out needy families and Stuff the FDL Squad! Bring a new unwrapped toy and stuff the FDL Squad car on December 4th at the Cloquet Community Center.
12/1 Public Notice: The Fond du Lac Office of Water Protection has received a request from the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Region 5 for a Clean Water Act Section 401 Water Quality Certification for the renewal of the National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) General Permit for Point Source Discharges from the Application of Pesticides (PGP). The PGP was originally issued in 2011 and renewed in 2016 and 2021. Each time, Fond du Lac has DENIED this Certification. Federal permits or licenses are only valid on the Fond du Lac Reservation if they have received 401 Water Quality Certification. The Office of Water Protection has issued a 30-Day Public Notice regarding the request for certification to invite interested parties to submit written facts, arguments, or objections to the address listed in the Public Notice. These statements should address the protection of water quality on the Reservation in regard to the PGP.

12/1 13 Moons Wreath Making Workshop: The 13 Moons Wreath Making Workshop was held on Saturday, December 2, 12 pm - 3 pm, at the FDLTCC 2101. Participants learned how to create beautiful wreaths by following along with professional wreath maker, Lurinda Defoe!

11/30 Community Meal: The Community Meal with the Fond du Lac Police Department was held on Wednesday, December 13, at the Sawyer Community Center.
11/29 Local Indian Education Meeting: Learn about the Carlton District American Indian Education program at the Sawyer Community Center, Wednesday, November 29, 5 PM.
11/29 Elders Telling Stories - The Tribal Historic Preservation Office invited Fond du Lac elders to Sawyer Community Center on Wednesday, November, 29th from 5pm-7pm to tell stories for the Office to preserve. Refreshments were provided.
11/27 Wildfire Update: With the recent drying conditions, we have an elevated wildfire risk in the light fuels across the reservation. These fuels (tall grass, cattails, oak leaves, and pine needles) are the ones to dry out first and become more receptive to sparks as time goes on along with sunny days and wind.
11/27 Request for Proposals: By order of the Fond du Lac Band of Lake Superior Chippewa, sealed bids for the 2023 Black Bear Casino Resort New Data Center Project will be received in accordance with the documents prepared by Northland Technology. The deadline for submitting bids was January 4, 2024, 2:00 pm.
11/27 2023 Vehicle Auction: The dates for the vehicle auction are Monday, November 27th, through Friday, December 1st, 1 pm. All submittals were to be dropped off at the front desk of the Tribal Center by 1 pm. Late submittals were not accepted. Vehicles/Equipment are located in the far south portion of the Public Works yard.
11/21 Community New Year's Eve Dance: The Brookston Community Center welcomes the FDL Community to its New Year's Eve Dance on December 31st, from 8 pm to 1 am. There will be games & prizes, refreshments, balloon drop and more!
11/21 Home for Sale: The Fond du Lac Development Corporation will be holding a Lottery for a home located at 1229 Northrup Road, Cloquet, MN. 55720. Applications from qualified Band Members will be accepted until 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, December 27th, 2023.
11/21 AICHO to host first in-person session of Indigenous Writer Series: AICHO will co-host its first in-person Indigenous Writer Series session, featuring writers and publishers Thomas Peacock and Elizabeth (Betsy) Albert-Peacock on December 16, 2023 from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. at the Dr. Robert Powless Cultural Center at 212 West 2nd Street, Duluth, MN. This event series will be co-hosted by The University of Minnesota, Duluth’s Department of American Indian Studies. Jill Doerfler, Ph.D., UMD Department of American Indian Studies Director and writer will be moderating this session. In their session, Peacock and Albert-Peacock will each talk about their books, read an excerpt of their books, participate in a Q&A segment, and sign books. AICHO will provide refreshments for event participants.
11/20 Press Conference and Native Heritage Month Reception: Northspan Group, Inc. and the Fond du Lac Band will be hosting a press conference and Native Heritage Month Reception celebrating the launch of a new program named DAWN, Driving Access to Wealth & Networks. DAWN’s mission is to address needs related to successful entrepreneurship and business growth among Socially and Economically Disadvantaged Individuals in our region. The Press Conference and Reception will be held and the FDL Cultural Language and Learning Center on Monday, November 20, 3:00 pm. The community is welcome to attend!
11/17 13 Moons Cultural Conference: The 13 Moons Cultural Conference was held November 17-18 at the Fond du Lac Tribal and Community College. There will be cultural workshops, food and more! The conference was free and open to the public.
11/16 Gookonaanig Endaawaad Pre-K Program: We are pleased to announce that Gookonaanig Endaawaad is currently accepting applications to our Pre-K program for ages 3-5. At this time, programming will run Mon-Thurs 9am-2pm. It will run Monday, December 4, 2023, to May 30, 2024. Please apply by Friday, November 24th.
11/16 RBC Open Meeting Notice: The RBC Open Meeting was held Thursday, November 16, at 4:30 PM at the FDL Tribal Center. It was open to FDL Band members via Zoom and in person. 
11/15 Friends of the BWCA: Fond du Lac Tribal Chairman, Kevin Dupuis, provided some key comments about the importance of the BWCA for the Friends of the BWCA Gala on September 30, 2023.
11/15 Vaccine Clinics Rescheduled: The vaccine clinics that were to be held October 25th and 26th have been rescheduled. The new remaining date is Wednesday, November 15th from 3:00 PM-5:30 PM at the Tribal Center Classroom for community members. Flu and Covid vaccines are available. Anyone who has not received a first flu or Covid vaccine will be asked to obtain this at their provider’s office.
11/14 AFDO Seafood Alliance HACCP Training: GLIFWC will be sponsoring an AFDO Seafood HACCP Training held at the Ojibwa Casino, Baraga, MI, on December 5 - 7. GLIFWC will pay the $136.50 HACCP Registration fee (which includes the course book), provide hotel rooms, and food and mileage reimbursements for qualified participants. Fond du Lac Band members, including subsistence fishermen and those active in harvesting and processing fish, are included.
11/13 Request for Proposals: The Fond du Lac Administration is soliciting proposals from individuals to create a painting, live during an event. We are seeking individuals with experience in medium scale painting to design and paint a canvas during a scheduled event. Fond du Lac Band would own the rights to the painting. Timeline of work will be 2.5 hours of the event. Please submit a proposal along with your experience and examples of work by December 15, 2023.

11/13 Home for Sale: The Fond du Lac Development Corporation held a Lottery for a home located at 1825 Big Lake Road, Cloquet, MN. 55720. Applications from qualified Band Members were accepted until 2:00 p.m. Monday, November 20th, 2023.
11/13 Manoomin-Psin Knowledge Symposium: Join us at Black Bear Casino Resort November 13 - 15 to learn about Manoomin-Psin from Tribal leaders, elders, community members, and agency leaders. There will be an evening feast on November 13th, and tours of Fond du Lac’s food sovereignty initiatives on November 15th.
11/7 Health Notice: Health officials urge people not to eat WanaBana apple cinnamon fruit pouches. The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) is advising parents and caregivers not to buy or feed WanaBana apple cinnamon fruit puree pouches to children because the product may contain elevated levels of lead. WanaBana apple cinnamon fruit puree pouches are sold nationally and are available through multiple retailers, including Sam’s Club, Amazon and Dollar Tree.
