For example, when you go spearing and netting in the spring, our staff are the creel clerks who weigh, measure and collect biological samples at Mille Lacs Lake. When you sell your rice, our staff weighs and transports the rice to processors. We assist our Forestry Program by providing tree planting, by hand and with their “tree spade”. We provide assistance to the Gitigaan Program by tilling garden plots for Band Members. Data entry and sample processing is provided for various Programs in Resource Management. We do roadside mowing for tribal roads, maintain and prepare the powwow arbor and grounds at Mashkawisen.
