Position Announcement



  • Assists the Security Shift Supervisor with the security of personnel, patrons, facility, grounds, and other property belonging to the Black Bear Casino Resort and ensures the Black Bear Casino Resort complex is safe from causes such as fire, theft, burglary, assault and other such causes that may threaten the safety of the business or patrons.
  • In the absence of the Security Shift Supervisor leads the security guard staff.
  • Accurately logs all necessary information pertaining to activities of assigned shift and completes and submits all required paperwork.
  • Review all reports submitted by security guards to assure proper reporting, procedures, etc.
  • Provides general patrol of interior of the casino.
  • Prevents unauthorized admittance of alcoholic beverages on the premises of the Casino.
  • Performs first aid to assist vendor patrons and casino employees.
  • Protects all money areas and executive offices.
  • Properly identifies all employees entering money areas.
  • Provides money escort services.
  • Reports all accidents and conditions requiring correction.
  • Reports employee theft or unusual behavior or irregularities.
  • Prepares necessary reports relating to all incidents in a manner acceptable for outside distribution.
  • Assists in preparing evacuation plans and routes from assigned areas.
  • Checks necessary safety equipment as needed.
  • Maintains crowd control and entry points.
  • Patrols assigned areas to prevent crime, protect life and property, apprehend those engaged in activities of criminal or disturbing natures, notes suspicious characters, and assists the public.
  • Monitors special activities.
  • Department uniform is required and provided to the employee, which must be worn during scheduled work hours unless prior arrangements have been made with management.
  • Must attend all mandatory department trainings. Must attend all required Title 31 and/or SAR trainings.
  • Displays a responsive and professional manner in promptly responding to all requests, complaints, and problems.
  • Recognizes that each employee is a representative of the Fond du Lac Band of Lake Superior Chippewa and is responsible for demonstrating courtesy, respect, and sensitivity to the needs of all others, including visitors and co-workers.
  • Represents the Fond du Lac Band of Lake Superior Chippewa and the department in a positive and professional manner in the community.
  • Required to maintain proper attendance including reporting to work on time in accordance with applicable policies.
  • Maintains a clean and organized work area.
  • Due to changes and modifications in the job from time to time, employees are required to be flexible and assume other responsibilities assigned by management as deemed necessary.


  • Ability to lift and carry up to 25 pounds is required.
  • Walking, standing, bending, stooping, climbing, pushing, pulling are required.
  • Subject to inside environmental conditions, including work in a smoking environment.


  • A strong knowledge and understanding of the laws of the United States and State of Minnesota is required.
  • Knowledge of computer applications to include word processing, Power Point, Access, Excel and Microsoft Outlook is required.
  • Ability to supervise and manage employees effectively is required.
  • Ability to work with the public is required.
  • Training in emergency first aid and CPR is required.
  • Operations are conducted seven days a week; 24 hours a day; and on holidays.
  • Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing is required.
  • Ability to work independently and establish priorities is required.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy is required.
  • Ability to establish professional and harmonious working relationships on all projects and with all parties involved.
  • Subject to drug and alcohol testing in accordance with the Fond du Lac Reservation’s Personnel Policies.
  • Subject to pre-employment and annual background checks.
