Age-to-Age Summer College Intern, Part Time Seasonal

Location: FDL Language Resource Library & Camp
Supervisor: Anishinabemowin Coordinator
Pay Rate: $12.50 per hour
Closing Date: Open Until Filled

General Summary:

The overarching goal of this program is to engage returning college students to work with older adults in community engagement and intergenerational efforts within the goals and objective of the Fond du Lac Ojibwe language program. This program will run approximately 6-8 weeks, June 2018 – August 2018.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Candidate need to be a current college student and in good standing and should provide verification of college attendance included with application.
  • Infuse the new enthusiasm and creative energy of college interns to undertake AGE to AGE activities and projects with older adults as key resource that responded to local needs.
  • Increase the understanding, knowledge and skills of interns in relation to working with older adults to design and implement programming or project that tap the knowledge and skills of older people for community enhancement.
  • Create resources to support Ojibwe language and culture skills across all age groups.
  • Strengthen local AGE to AGE efforts to actively engage people 55 and older as vital resources aimed at fostering social interaction and improving health and well-being across all age groups.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Position Qualifications:

  • Required to attend College Intern Training and Age to Age Summit.
  • Subject to drug and alcohol testing with accordance with the Fond du Lac Reservation’s Personal Policies.
  • Subject to pre-employment and background checks.
