Warehouse Supervisor, Full Time

General Summary:

Responsible for the overall management of the warehouses of the Fond du Lac Reservation as assigned. The Warehouse Supervisor will plan, organize and direct the activity of the warehouses which includes the development of inventory control systems for the proper accounting inventory. The person in this position has the responsibility for the development of policies and procedures to direct the preparation, distribution and return of all inventories under department control. Incumbent is responsible for all assets under his or her control.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Provides supervision to staff in the department and other staff if located off-site, when necessary. This includes completing their annual appraisals, approving leave time, monitoring their work product, ensuring proper coverage of duties when they are on leave, training for their duties, and any disciplinary action necessary.
  • Coordinates activities with management. Conducts reviews of activities, policies and procedures. Identifies problems or deficiencies related to the Inventory Preparation Department. Recommends or implements appropriate corrective measures.
  • Plans, organizes, and directs the activities of the warehouses assigned including the development of inventory control systems for the proper accounting of all inventories, development of policies and procedures to direct the preparation, distribution, and return of all inventories under departmental control.
  • As directed, works on special projects as needed. Initiates purchase orders or makes arrangements to get the work done. Oversees the heat, furnace, or other routine maintenance of the facilities. Calls for repairs as needed with authorization.
  • Appropriate work attire is required.
  • Must attend all mandatory department trainings.
  • Ensures confidentiality of financial records and all records for employees, band members and/or clients.
  • Displays a responsive and professional manner in promptly responding to all requests, complaints, and problems.
  • Recognizes that each employee is a representative of the Fond du Lac Band of Lake Superior Chippewa and is responsible for demonstrating courtesy, respect, and sensitivity to the needs of all others, including visitors and co-workers.
  • Represents the Fond du Lac Band of Lake Superior Chippewa and the department in a positive and professional manner in the community.
  • Required to maintain proper attendance including reporting to work on time in accordance with applicable policies.
  • Maintains a clean and organized work area.
  • Due to changes and modifications in the job from time to time, employees are required to be flexible and assume other responsibilities assigned by management as deemed necessary.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds is required.
  • Walking, standing, bending, stooping, climbing, pushing, pulling are required.
  • Subject to inside and outside environmental conditions, including work in adverse weather conditions and work in a smoking environment.

Position Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED is required.
  • Previous experience in Inventory Control Operations is desired.
  • Demonstrated ability to supervise and manage employees effectively is required. Knowledge of computer applications to include word processing, Access, Excel and Microsoft Outlook is required.
  • Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing is required.
  • Ability to work independently and establish priorities is required.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy is required.
  • Ability to establish professional and harmonious working relationships on all projects and with all parties involved.
  • Subject to drug and alcohol testing in accordance with the Fond du Lac Reservation’s Personnel Policies.
  • Subject to pre-employment and annual background checks.
  • Travel is required.
